Hi there,

I love my A40s, but often find that my roommate's bagpipe music gets through the flimsy "noise cancelling" pads that attach to the tags. Is there any chance some more substantial ones might be coming up? can I hear some support for this? I understand that the current ones are useful, since I can talk to people while still having that deadening effect, but there are times when I just need absolute silence.

I don't what to say besides that the A40 is an open headphone and its quality would reduce if it went close or you tried to cancel more noise.

While this is true, they could make a different product(A50s for example) with a closed ear style- which would give people more options to choose from, which is ultimately a good thing. Sound quality would be roughly the same- The Sennheiser PC350s are closed ear and have about the same quality of sound.

I don't think that the ASTRO A40s need to be more noise cancelling. Just think about the professional gamers, they have to put up with roaring crowds, not just some bagpipe backdrop.
