I started my collection in September 2010, here it is today:
A40 Headset with Cardboard Tube Samurai Tags
A30 Headset with Astro Tags
Wired Mixamp
Wireless 5.8 Mixamp
Astro Headset Stand
Astro Scout Backpack
This, Astro, is why it is important to have a presence at PAX. Thanks for the quality gear, I love it and I am sure you guys love counting the $$ I give you :D
My quick opinions on the gear:
A40 Headset with Cardboard Tube Samurai Tags
Been using them for a year and I love the headset. Great for long periods of gaming on the PC or Xbox360, very comfortable and does a good job with 5.1 sounds so you know where the gunfire is coming from.
A30 Headset with Astro Tags
Only had these guys for a couple weeks, but I used them extensively at PAX2010/2011. Do a better job at muffling outside sound than the A40s, but doesn't remove it. Comfortable for on-ear headphones, but A40s I find are more comfortable for extended gaming sessions. Much more practical for on the go.
Wired Mixamp
Great at what it does, but for my uses, the wireless is everything I need. When it was released I went wireless. Now this thing stays hooked up to my PC 24/7.
Wireless 5.8 Mixamp
Awesome! best part of the collection. Excellent range, way more then you practically need. No static in my house and I have 2.4GHz & 5.8GHz tech flying all over the place.
Astro Headset Stand
Very convenient for me. I hang my A40's on it at my computer desk after every gaming session. Keeps them safe and in one place.
Astro Scout Backpack
Just arrived. Fits my 16" laptop perfectly. Feels very durable. Only gripe is what others had pointed out and that is the strap across the chest. It sits a little high for comfort.
If anyone wants a more in depth analysis or opinion on something I have let me know. I just don't feel like writing an essay after commenting on everything.
