On April 15th 2010. Xbox Live for all original Xbox (1) games will be shut down. This includes disc and downloadable games off the Games on Demand. This will not effect the Single Player, Split Screen or LAN. If you put a Game in such as Halo 2, you will still get a Xbox 360 Update for Xbox (1) Original Game Support, although once in Halo 2 you will not be able to sign into Xbox Live.
Discontinuing Xbox Live support for the Original Xbox will allow Xbox 360 to have new features such as a bigger friends list. More is to be announced.
NOTE *Halo 2 on the PC will still function as it is running under the Games for Windows Live.
NOTE 2 *Bungie is getting as many people with Halo 2 together to play on April 14th 2010. To give it a good farewell, you can find the official post here (http://www.bungie.net/News/Blog.aspx?mode=news#cid24704).

I would still take Halo 2 over Bigger Friends List anyday!

Thanks for the info, it'll be sad to see the old games lose the online feature.

Ahhh, the days of Halo 2 online are coming to an end. Wonder if they enabled it to run on the 360 online (for Halo 2 that is).

Unless they port the Windows Vista/Windows 7 Games for Windows Live version then no. Although knowing Microsoft they will for money.

Superjumping on Lockout, actual skill to use a Sniper/BR. The memories.
Still.. We have LAN and Single Player..
Still.. We have the PC Version..
Still.. Microsoft will port it over to the Xbox 360 for $$$$

The superjump on lockout gave me more problems than any other bounce in the game. Swipe sniping, quad shots, and BxR, you will be missed. God I miss bxr so much.

I loved halo 2. I still do brx quad shot, and the quick scopes. :D
RIP halo 2
By the way HALO 3 is broken:mad:
halo sucks. to many boosters, CoD fixed that with ricochet... idk why halo just wont turn friendly fire off...

I disagree with your opinion Izzy. I notice a lot more boosters on CoD then any other game, including Halo.
boosters in CoD dont actually effect game play. just because they have better guns doesnt mean they have better skill... get good. as for halo... mlg boosters destroyed it so i quit, it's nearly impossible to get past a 30-40 in mlg with boosters on your team every other game, there are boosters in every game, CoD boosters just dont have the same effect as halo boosters

I was mostly disagreeing with your opinion that, Halo sucks. I do understand and agree though that, the boosters in Halo do destroy the competitive value etc. of the MLG playlist when playing in higher levels.
I've always liked customs more though. In my opinion, Halo in general takes a LOT more skill then some of the newer Call of Duty games. Though I don't want to start a lame flame war on this. I just have a feeling many of you may disagree with me and then I will have to attempt to prove my opinion. :P
