Was just wondering if Astro will be at the upcoming Call of Duty Expo? Or anyone else here for that matter? Looks like it's going to be pretty cool. Can't wait.

Hey Fish,

Jealous that you're going! It looks to be a lot of fun. We have some friends from press/community sites that will be going, but we won't be present there as a company. Not exactly sure how the planning team/Activision is going to have voice chat for the team competitions (they're using TB gear as TB is making those MW3 headsets).

It would have been better if they're using wired MixAmps chained together, then they wouldn't need to use extra resources for voice chat over XBL.

That's too bad you can't make it. I'm really looking forward to being able to try the paintball games they're going to have set up. The Scrapyard recreation is going to be crazy.

I forgot TB was handling the MW3 headsets. I noticed at Comic-Con everyone else was using Astro headsets though.

I really wanted to go, but cant afford the hotels.
I wish you could bring your own paintball guns, I have two pistols that would outdo any guns they have there(they are prob going to be tippmann 98's or if they have a good budget tippmann A-5's)

That sucks. I was thinking the same thing about the paintball guns. I keep hoping (even though I know it'll never, ever happen) that they'd use RAP4s instead. Would work so much better than a standard paintball gun.

Eh not really, RAP4's design is based off of spyder technology and is prone to break internally a lot.
The feed design is very cool and it would be nice to see this in a tippmann or Tiberius design, but it's not worth $800.
And I dont think they are buying the guns but renting them probably from tippmann themselves.
As it would be very pricey to have buy 50 or more guns.

Really? Wow, I didnt know that. But I've been out of the paintball loop for years now. I already figured the renting part since its only a 1 weekend thing. I saw they have a promotion for 50% off a package deal right now if you've registered for this upcoming magazine fed only scenario game. Even then, I'm still iffy on it. It's a lot of money for something I may rarely use.

I'm also pretty excited to check out that Pit training course they're setting up.

they are cool guns dont get me wrong, but its not worth $800-1400 for the premium guns.
If you know how to fic them and do it well, it may be worth the high price, but Spyder guns arent known for easy repair.

If you ever want a good milsim gun, the Tippmann X7 or a Tiberius gun always works well.
The BT TM-15 would be a good choice, but its based off of the Mini Internals and is also a bit hard to maintain, and it needs lubing almost every time you play.

Nice, I'll keep those in mind for the future. Always wanted to do a scenario game but with milsim markers. Good to know.

I'll be going. The event keeps getting better with each announcement of new activities being added. Sad that Astro won't be there as I would love to buy some tags for my A40s :[ I guess I'll just wait until MLG comes back to socal

It's getting closer to the event now. At least we'll get a voucher for the game. Really lessens the pain on that ticket price. Now that I've actually looked at a calender, isn't it a bit odd to have it on a Friday and Saturday? I thought it was a weekend thing. Good thing I get Fridays off.

Monday's a Holiday (Labor Day) for most of the US, if that's any bonus. But yes, I think it should have been on the Sat-Sun dates as well.

So got back from the first day at XP. Hard to say what I think about it. It's like the planning was good on paper, but the execution of it fell flat on its face. They simply had too little to do for the amount of people there. The waits were probably an average of 2-3 hours for each event. I think the wait for Burger Town was the same and they had like 8-10 windows open.

On a sidenote, they used Astro A40's and MixAmps for all the systems there. Oh, and the new mode Kill Confirmation and features are pretty cool so far.

Yeap, ASTRO's the Official Communications Partner of Call of Duty XP (http://www.astrogaming.com/blog/1263/astro-at-call-of-duty-xp/), or didn't ya here? ;)

ASTRO Stanimal, ASTRO Xariun, and a few others were there for some of the weekend. It sounded like a blast to be there, and be amoung the first to play the multiplayer experience of MW3.

LOL, Nope, I never saw that article. I was still going off of what you said about it possibly being TB. Now I know and knowing is half the battle.

It was pretty cool. But because of the insane lines I didn't get to do much of anything. Missed out on the Jeep experience, the Pit training run, and I didn't get a chance to play MW3. At one point the wait time for the Pit was like 4 hours. Jeep was just as bad. At least I got some shirts. In the end, I think the fact we getting the hardened edition for going is what really makes up for it though.
