Dears,

I have an HDMI TV and am using HDMI cable for my Xbox 360. If I used the TV Optical Cable port which my TV have is it going to be same quality as if I used the XBox's port?
Can I use the TV's port? or I have to use the one that comes with the X box 5 wires HD cable?

Thanks,

To be more specific:
Is it by using the audio adapter/HDMI cable is the best choice for Video/Sound Quality?

Hey Qatar,

It's best if the optical cable comes directly from the xbox (from either the Composite, VGA adaptors, or the audio adaptor). The next best would be using the optical out from the TV, but you would have to check the specifications on your TV to ensure that it has a 5.1 passthrough for the optical signal.

the port on your TV should work, i was using that setup myself for a while, i did notice a slight degrade in the quality of sound due to extra processing the TV had to do but nothing that greatly affected my performance.
